I started this blog a few years back with the intention of using it to help advocate for my son and the special needs community. While it’s still a passion of mine, I am sensitive to the fact that he’s about to turn 15 and I would rather not splash his image all over cyberspace. At least one pic has been stolen from this blog so I’ll be removing what’s here and taking the blog in a new direction.
The blog formerly known as Suncoast Momma (I need an abstract symbol for that!) is now Chronic Mom Life.
Years ago at a disability conference, I heard that disability can happen to us at any time. I never knew how soon it would happen for me. Diagnosed with cervical dystonia in 2010, my life has taken a different turn. One that continues to evolve as I daily come to grips that things are not the same as they once were and finding acceptance and peace in that. It’s a whole new way of living. I live with chronic pain on a daily basis and battle extreme fatigue from dystonia and the other beast, endometriosis while still living this life as a wife and special needs mom.
Going forward, I’m going to write about what matters most to me and what comes easiest for me write about – faith and finding wholeness on this disability path I’m on as well as finding community with others who struggle with chronic conditions.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new reader, thanks for visiting.
