Like every other January I started out the month with grand plans and schemes to improve everything, only to be hit by reality a few weeks later. Here in Florida we don’t have winter, the closest thing is a few days with “plunging” nighttime temps in the 30s and daytime highs of 60s. (I love it.)
We got the Christmas tree down mid-month.
I already lost track of my 365 prompts. Trying to hang in there with art journaling.
Every January I also get some kind of plague..last year it was mono. A couple of years before that Shigella. This year it’s some weird GI plague that’s left me lightheaded, dizzy and with gurgling stomach for about 10 days now.
I’ve been doing some regular VA work and I’m really going to have to learn to tighten up the rest of my time so that I can continue blogging. (Starting with removing Soda Crush from my tablet!)
What I’m Watching
Er, mostly nothing except for sort of being forced to watch FOX News and MMA because that’s what my husband does. And I know Downton Abbey is going on. Recordings of Sleepy Hollow are sitting on the DVR. I haven’t watched anything else that everyone else is talking about like Walking Dead or Parenthood. And Call the Midwife will be starting soon.
In My Ears
This is a sampling of my playlist. Some may find the diversity disturbing.
I’ve resolved to try to listen to a few productive podcasts, such as Blog Smarter.
What I’m Reading
Other than devotions…not much except for some business reading like Make a Living Writing. Should I consider the 2015 Reading Challenge? (Reminder..remove Soda Crush from tablet…) Suggestions include a book with more than 500 pages (!) a classic romance, a book published this year, a book written by someone under 30, a Pulitzer-prize winning book. There’s a lot more but this is probably already pushing it.
On the Blog
Not much…but will change that in February! I need to plan regular brainstorming/scheduling sessions.
Best of the Web
The time Queen Elizabeth Terrified the Saudi King With Her Driving. This is a badass lady with a wicked sense of humor.
Johnny T’s Tourist Tips. I’ve watched this at least half a dozen times and it still cracks me up. It’s completely true.
Stuff Italian Moms Say (I changed the s word) I’m not Italian but I say at least a few of these. Including “lock the door” after living in the Florida boonies for 20 years.
